Ashley Bestie is a community-first website. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account or apply to become a Bestie, we may collect your name, username, email address, password authentication information, social platform and handle, optional profile photo, pronouns, city or region, biography, interests, newsletter preference, and community-guideline acceptance.
When you participate, we may collect nominations, Bestie Board submissions, reports, profile changes, and other content you choose to provide. We also receive basic technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, referring pages, and security or activity logs.
2. Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides us with account information you authorize, such as your email address, name, and profile picture. We use it only to authenticate your account and operate your Ashley Bestie membership. Ashley Bestie does not receive your Google password.
3. How we use information
- Create and secure your account.
- Review and manage membership applications.
- Display profile details you have chosen to make public.
- Moderate posts, nominations, reports, and community activity.
- Send Bestie Mail when you opt in.
- Provide member access, support, safety, fraud prevention, and site administration.
- Understand and improve site performance and community features.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. Public information
If you enable public-profile visibility, your first name, username, profile photo, and approved profile details may appear publicly, including in the rotating Bestie gallery. Your last name and email address are not intended for public display. Community posts appear publicly only after moderation. You can change profile visibility in Profile Settings.
5. Consultation and service requests
When you request a consultation, UGC service, digital resource, or website project, we collect the contact details, goals, timing, budget information, and business information you choose to provide. We use this information to review your request, contact you, prepare pricing or a project quote, schedule services, and provide relevant follow-up. Website design requests may be handled through Elevate Influence.
6. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the site, including Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage, Google for optional sign-in, and email providers for messages you request. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Links to Discord, Epic Studios, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Elevate Influence lead to independent services with their own privacy practices.
7. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate Ashley Bestie, when you direct us to, to protect the community or our rights, to comply with law, or as part of a business reorganization. We do not authorize service providers to use your information for unrelated purposes.
8. Retention and security
We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably needed for community operations, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Approved Bestie Board posts are designed to expire from public display after 30 days, though limited records may remain for moderation or security. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices
You can update your profile, change public visibility, unsubscribe from Bestie Mail, or sign out through the site. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Some records may be retained when required for security, legal compliance, or legitimate operational needs.
10. Age requirement
Ashley Bestie membership is intended for adults age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and remove it.
11. Updates and contact
